 The New York Mets defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 11–7 yesterday, March 26, in their 2026 Season Opener at Citi Field.

It was a rough afternoon for the Pirates' ace and defending NL Cy Young winner, Paul Skenes, who was chased from the game in the first inning after giving up 5 runs. Meanwhile, Freddy Peralta earned the win in his Mets debut, striking out seven over five innings.
