Truck and delivery drivers remain some of the most searched jobs abroad, and the US H-2A agricultural visa program regularly includes driving roles. A new example on the US Department of Labor's SeasonalJobs.dol.gov portal comes from Bonnie Plants, LLC, a well-known vegetable and herb plant grower, which is hiring Light Truck Drivers in Liverpool, Texas. The job order says the employer pays or reimburses all visa-related costs and forbids recruitment fees, so it qualifies as a free visa sponsorship opportunity for eligible workers. Duties include: - Pre- and post-trip truck inspections (tyres, fluids, fuel) and minor maintenance - Following US DOT rules, including logbooks and hours-of-service limits - "Shuttle driving", where drivers swap a loaded truck for an empty one at a meeting point - Moving heavy rolling plant carts (100 to 460 lbs) using a lift gate, and loading and unloading at stores - Watering plants in transit, removing plants that do not meet quality standards, and stacking trays - Pre-season and end-of-season work such as building and painting racks Requirements stated in the job order - 2 months of greenhouse or nursery experience - A valid driver's licence issued by a US state, or a valid US CDL or its acceptable international equivalent (a CDL is accepted but not required) - At least 21 years old with at least 3 years of driving experience, as required by the employer's insurer - English good enough to read traffic signs and talk with road officials - Ability to lift 50 lbs; drug and alcohol testing is done after hire at the employer's expense The job order also warns that drivers are responsible for fines from at-fault traffic violations. The job order also states that the employer expressly prohibits the solicitation and payment of recruitment fees by workers, and asks workers to report anyone who asks for money. How to apply 1. Read the official listing: Light Truck Drivers – Bonnie Plants on SeasonalJobs.dol.gov (https://seasonaljobs.dol.gov/jobs/H-300-26274-272859). 2. Open "View Job Order" for the complete rules and pay details. 3. Contact the employer using only the details printed there: email emily.delacruz@bonnieplants.com or phone +1 334-744-7212. Include your full name, phone number, the job title or job order number, your address or email, and how you heard about the job. 4. Interviews are mainly by phone after the employer reviews applications and CVs. Tips before you apply - Check H-2A eligibility. H-2A visas are generally available only to nationals of countries on the US eligible-countries list. - Show greenhouse experience. The 2-month nursery or greenhouse requirement is easy to overlook. - Get your licence history ready. Three years of driving with a valid licence is an insurance condition. - Remember the season ends. The contract runs to 31 July 2027 and is temporary work. Scam warning Never pay an agent or "visa consultant" for this job. The employer states that it prohibits recruitment fees and pays visa-related costs. Any request for money to "process" your H-2A file is a red flag. Report it and walk away.
