A bearded man

A bearded man
was looking at me. I got up and sat next to him and I asked him, "Are you
a Muslim?" He smiled and replied, "No, I'm a Jordanian Jew." I
am a rabbi and I am doing my Ph.D. in Islam in Paris.
I asked, "What aspect of Islam are you
doing your Ph.D. on?" He blushed and thought for a moment, "I'm
researching Muslim extremism."
I laughed and
asked, "How far has your research gone?"
He took a
long sip of coffee and said, "My research is complete and I'm writing a
paper now."
I asked,
"What is the finding of your research?" He took a deep breath, looked
left and right, shook his head and spoke softly. "After five years of
continuous research, I have come to the conclusion that Muslims love their
prophet more than Islam," he said. They tolerate all kinds of attacks on
Islam, but they do not tolerate any finger-pointing at the Prophet. "
The answer
was surprising to me. "I put a mug of coffee on the table and sat up
straight."
He said,
"According to my research, whenever Muslims fought, whenever they got up and
whenever they hid, it was because of the caste of the Holy Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him) do whether you ban the publication of the
Qur'an or you kill their entire family, they will tolerate it, but as soon as
you take the name of their Prophet (peace be upon him) in the wrong tone, they
will suffer and then you will become a wrestler or Pharaoh, they will clash
with you. "
I kept
looking at him in amazement.
He said,
"My finding is that the day when the love of the Prophet (peace be upon
him) will not remain in the hearts of Muslims, the day Islam will end." So
if you want to destroy Islam, you have to get their messenger out of the hearts
of Muslims.”
He put the
mug of coffee down with him, picked up his cloth bag, put it on his shoulder,
greeted him, and got up and left. But I have been stunned since that day.
"I consider this Jewish rabbi my benefactor because I was only a social
Muslim before I met him, but he taught me the whole of Islam in two
sentences."
I came to
know that love for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is
the soul of Islam, and as long as this soul lasts, so long is the existence of
Islam. There will be no difference.
