Europe's shortage of professional truck drivers is still driving recruitment from outside the EU, and one of the largest players is Girteka, an asset-based logistics group with a team of about 14,000 people, founded in 1996. Its driver careers site currently advertises CE truck driver jobs with employment in Lithuania, quoting earnings of up to €2,850–€3,286 per month after taxes and a one-time bonus of up to €1,000 for experienced drivers who apply by 31 October 2026. Girteka says it guides drivers through work permits and visas, so this is a visa sponsorship / visa help opportunity. Here is what the official pages say. Job details at a glance - Job title: Truck Driver in Europe (single crew) - Employer: Girteka (employment country: Lithuania) - Routes: cargo deliveries to destinations across Europe - Earnings stated: the opportunity to earn up to €2,850–€3,286 per month after taxes - Bonus: a one-time bonus of up to €1,000 for drivers with at least 6 months of CE driving experience in Europe, if they apply by 31 October 2026 - Contract: formal employment in Lithuania with social guarantees - Equipment: new EURO6 trucks with tilt or reefer semi-trailers - Support: 24/7 SOS support and monitoring, driver facilities at the transport base Girteka also lists other driver positions with transport bases in Lithuania (including Norway and Scandinavia routes), Poland, Latvia and Romania on its jobs page. Requirements stated by Girteka - A valid CE-category driving licence - English or Russian language skills - CE driving experience in European companies is counted towards your experience Girteka's application form also asks about your citizenship, any EU residence or work documents you already hold, your CE experience inside and outside Europe, and your English and Russian level. How the recruitment process works According to Girteka's recruitment page, the process has four main steps: 1. Interview: a recruiter discusses your background, experience and qualifications. 2. Test drive: a practical driving check, either in your home country or at a Girteka transport base. 3. Preparation for legal entry: once approved, the recruitment manager guides you on the documents needed for legal entry and employment. 4. Arrival and onsite test: after arriving at the transport base, you complete another test drive before employment. After hiring, onboarding includes contract signing, job-specific training (load securing, safe and fuel-efficient driving, regulations and company systems), the option of Code 95 training at Girteka's training centre, and, where needed, first routes alongside experienced drivers. Visa and work permit: what Girteka says On its "Why Girteka" page, the company says it takes care of the recruitment process from application to the first day, and that it will "provide guidance, assist with work permits and visas, and explain the documentation required for visa applications". The Lithuania job offer itself promises "expert guidance in obtaining work temporary residence permit". The pages we read do not say that Girteka pays all visa or travel costs, so we describe this as visa help rather than free visa sponsorship. Ask the recruiter in writing which costs the company covers. Girteka also notes an important limit: since 2024, work visa or residence permit applications must be submitted through VFS Global offices in the applicant's country of citizenship. If there is no VFS office in your country, it does not accept employment-based applications, or no appointments are available, Girteka says it cannot process your application at the moment. The citizenship list on its form includes countries such as India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Turkey and Ukraine. Check whether your country is listed before you apply. How to apply 1. Open the official job offer: Girteka – Truck Driver in Europe (Lithuania) (https://girtekadrivers.com/job/lithuania-europe-single/). 2. Fill in the enquiry form on Girteka's own site with your licence, citizenship, experience and language details. 4. Wait for a recruiter to contact you about the interview and test drive. Tips before you apply - Get your documents in order. Keep a valid passport, CE licence and proof of experience ready. - Check VFS availability early. Appointment availability in your country can decide your timeline. - Apply before 31 October if you have 6+ months of CE experience in Europe and want to be considered for the bonus. - Learn the basics of EU driving rules, including tachographs and rest periods. Scam warning Many fake "Europe driver visa" agents ask for money. Apply only through Girteka's official site and verify any partner agency directly with the company. Never pay for a "job guarantee", and be very careful with anyone who asks for large cash payments before you have a signed contract. Disclaimer The Motivators is an independent information blog and is not connected with Girteka. Pay figures are as stated on the company's site on 22 October 2026 and may change. Immigration rules depend on your nationality. Always verify every detail directly with the employer and the official Lithuanian authorities.
